Excellent prospects for the 2015 harvest
The grape harvest, one of the most evocative and important annual winemaking operations, took place recently at Masseria Capoforte. This event brings the 2015 season to a close and there are very optimistic expectations regarding the future wines. Our objective of focusing on native vines is succeeding most favourably. An ideal season with no major weather-related setbacks meant we harvested perfect bunches of grapes, to everyone's satisfaction. The excellent, high-quality grapes developed evenly thanks not least to the difference in temperature between the day and night. Both the white and red grapes were harvested at exactly the right stage of ripeness when the sugar concentration reached its peak. Thanks to the Salento area's particular climate and excellent vine growth, with a non-excessive yield, the conditions are showing all the signs of being those of the best vintages, both reds and whites. Negroamaro, rich pulp, tight bunch; Primitivo, excellent ripeness, intense perfumes; Falanghina, delicate and special; Fiano, elegant and balanced.
The sensory characteristics of the grapes for our sparkling wines are also of superior quality. "It's too early to judge the end product, the wine, but the season has undoubtedly gone very smoothly up to now," said Ettore Ceschin, owner of the Masseria Capoforte estate. "Our wines are not only a pleasure to drink, they also bear witness to the places of their origin, revealing personalities and passions that warm the heart ".
