Forecasts for the 2016 grape harvest: an excellent year
A good year. It is not the movie by Ridley Scott, but the forecast for this year's grape harvest. At Masseria Capoforte, in fact, an excellent vintage is expected, with excellent prospects of quality and quantity. To date, despite the initial earliness of the vineyards’ vegetative growth everything seems to proceed very smoothly. Growth, flowering, fruit setting, veraison and the final stage of ripening have been very good. Currently, predictions on the quality of the grapes are definitely optimistic, thanks to the climatic conditions of the last period. In particular, the constant presence of the Tramontana wind has maintained our grapes always dry and fresh.
This year, therefore, if the weather conditions continue to be favorable, may be "super" from all points of view. Especially September, a crucial month for the ripening of Negroamaro, where
dry and mild temperatures are essential. "We can say - confirms Ceschin Ettore, the owner of the wine cellar - that the climate, so far, has been perfect. The Negroamaro and the Primitivo are regularly ripening. We have a vegetation and a balanced load that leads us to say that the year will be good, characterized by a high quality of the product".
